In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song at the time within six months. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton performers were expressing displeasure about the advancing of the genre toward the mainstream. But a newer generation like Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the trend going. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music, and other styles was a common method.
